Crown acknowledges that the lands we are on are ancestral territories of the Indigenous peoples of Canada. We are grateful for the opportunity to live and work here and we thank all the generations of people who have taken care of this land for thousands of years.
Long before today, there have been Indigenous peoples who have been the stewards of this place. In particular, we acknowledge the Ancestral Traditional Territories of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinabewaki, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Mississauga First Nation and Wendake-Nionwentsïo whose lands we operate on today. We recognize and deeply appreciate their historic connection to these places. We also recognize the contributions that all other Indigenous peoples have made in shaping and strengthening these communities, our province and our country.
Whenever we gather at our office buildings, it is essential to recognize that people lived on and cared for these lands for centuries before our offices stood on these grounds. We acknowledge and greatly value the opportunity to learn from and cherish the contributions of Indigenous peoples of the past, present and into the future.
